A Baroque Revival mansion built between 1946 and 1949 by the Hakka tea merchant Chiang A-hsin (姜阿新) in Beipu, both as a family home and to receive foreign buyers at the height of the post-war tea boom. His company failed in 1964 and the house was surrendered to a bank, which used it for storage until a local foundation leased and repaired it in the 1990s. His descendants bought it back in 2012, and it is not always open to the public, or perhaps a tour may need to be booked in advance to see the interior.
