Dingshan Coal Mine is located in the hills of Daping (大坪) in the south of Beipu. Licensed in 1952 as Hongrong Coal Mine (宏榮煤礦), it closed in 1960 and reopened under the present name in 1966 before being sealed for good in 1977. The adit is buried under collapsed rubble, though rust-stained water still drains from it, and a single mine building and a few brick ruins can be found nearby.
