Established around 1835, this temple to Guanyin on the old street is the spiritual center of Beipu. Tradition holds that Jiang Xiuluan (姜秀鑾), head of the Jinguangfu land reclamation venture, brought the idol from China and housed it in a hut before building a wooden temple in 1840, which his grandson enlarged to its present layout in 1874. It was damaged in the 921 Earthquake and later restored.
