A rural temple in the hills of Hsinchu County primarily venerating Xuanwu (玄武). In 1986 the chief of the temple had a recurring dream about the late Chiang Kai-shek (蔣中正), who asked to be enshrined. An idol was carved and placed on the altar but little was done to publicize the fact, as the chief was unsure how the authorities would feel about it. For many years retired generals and other devotees of the KMT would visit and pay their respects. Now everything is out and open, and the temple has become a curiosity in the media.
