A historic temple to Guanyin in eastern Hsinchu City, now hemmed in by the science park that displaced the surrounding Hakka settlement. Founded in the 1850s by the land reclamation company that opened the Jinshanmian (金山面) area, it was burned down by Japanese forces in the Yiwei War of 1895 and rebuilt two years later. It was restored in 1991 to more closely match its appearance in 1897.
