鹿耳門鎮門宮
Lu'ermen Zhenmen Temple (鹿耳門鎮門宮)

A controversial Koxinga temple (鄭成功廟) located near where the pirate-king’s fleet sailed through Lu’ermen channel at high tide in 1661, bypassing the defense of Dutch Fort Zeelandia to land in Taiwan. Originally built in 1990 to commemorate this strategic feat, this temple is unique in having Dutch door gods and, on the second floor, a pair of Dutch bodyguards with contracts in hand. A small altar to Koxinga’s mother can also be found upstairs.
