Golden age theater completed in late 1957 and romanized as Kuo-Tu Theater. The four-story building stood at the intersection of Nanchang Road Sec. 2 (南昌路二段) and Heping W. Rd. (和平西路) in Guting (古亭), diagonally across from Mingxing Theater (明星戲院), and had a capacity of 1,000. Not long after opening it became a second-run theater. Business was poor in the 1970s and it finally closed in 1980. The site was redeveloped into the 12-story Guodu Building (國都大樓), completed in 1982.
