Taipei Mingxing Theater

Established in 1951 in the Guting (古亭) neighbourhood of Taipei, possibly in the former Huanghou Theater (皇后戲院). In 1977 this theater was closed, demolished, and rebuilt into the 12-storey Mingxing Building (明星大樓), completed in 1979. The theater continued to operate under its original name on the third, fourth, and fifth floors of this more modern commercial complex under its original name until the mid-1990s, after which the space became A Live Pub, where singers Chen Sheng (陳昇) and Wu Bai (伍佰) once performed, and later the Zhaoji Business Center (兆基商務中心). The building is slated for demolition as part of an urban renewal project.
