A red brick camphor refinery immediately to the west of the former Taipei Winery, now preserved within Huashan 1914 Creative Park. A sublimation works for refining camphor was set up here beside the winery in 1918, with several brick warehouses following in 1919. Camphor was a lucrative government monopoly, and alongside the official works at Nanmen this was one of only two modern refineries in colonial Taiwan. Refining continued under the post-war Monopoly Bureau until 1967, when dwindling supplies of natural camphor ended the business and the buildings were absorbed by the winery. Part of the complex was demolished in 1988 for the construction of the National Audit Office. The surviving structures, distinguished by arched brick windows, gable brackets, and a rare intact camphor flue, were recognized for their heritage value in 2007.
