A controversial temple honoring Wu Feng (吳鳳), a Qing dynasty merchant whose legend involves his alleged sacrifice to end Indigenous headhunting practices. The mythologized story was promoted during Japanese and KMT rule but was removed from school textbooks in 1989 following Indigenous protests against its perceived racist implications. It was heavily damaged in the 921 Earthquake.
