Daojiang Canal Chilan Creek Aqueduct Monument (道將圳赤蘭溪導水路竣工記念碑) - Spectral Codex
道將圳赤蘭溪導水路竣工記念碑

A monumental obelisk erected in 1937 to commemorate the completion of the Chilan Creek underground aqueduct. This aqueduct is a nearly 3 kilometer conduit, covered for half its length and open for the rest, built to divert water from Chilan Creek into Daojiang Canal (道將圳), one of Chiayi’s oldest irrigation systems. The monument stands at a bridgehead in Zhongpu just across from Sanjiepu (三界埔), its inscriptions still legible though the characters for the Shōwa era were defaced after the war.
