Site of the first lighthouse in Taiwan and Penghu, established in 1778. It was later rebuilt to modern standards by British engineer David M. Henderson in 1875. Today the complex is open to tourists as a national monument of Taiwan. Also known as Xiyu Lighthouse (西嶼燈塔).
