Qiuzishan Lighthouse (球子山燈塔) - Spectral Codex
Qiuzishan Lighthouse (球子山燈塔)

Built in 1956 on a hill above the harbor, this was the first lighthouse designed and constructed entirely by the Republic of China. During its years inside a military zone the square concrete tower was painted in defensive green, then restored to its original white when the Maritime and Port Bureau refurbished it in 2018. It was taken out of service in 1991. In the 2020s the surrounding base was converted into a hiking trail and it is now readily visited from the nearby Keelung Lighthouse.
