Wai’an Fake Cannon (外垵餌砲) - Spectral Codex
外垵餌砲

Completed in 1923, this was one of several fake gun emplacements constructed under the auspices of an arms control treaty. It allowed Japan to project the image of power without actually violating the treaty itself. Contrary to popular assumptions, it was not a decoy to draw allied fire during World War 2. It is also known as the Xitai Fake Cannon (西台餌砲).
