A late Qing dynasty kiln that produced hard pottery ware, unearthed in 2003 during construction of the Central Taiwan Science Park (中部科學園區) and relocated to the grounds of AUO Optronics, where it is preserved within the grounds of AUO Xidadun Kiln Cultural Museum (友達西大墩窯文化館). The site is credited with revising long-held assumptions that ceramics in Qing dynasty era Taiwan were entirely imported, and with expanding the limited record of early kiln structures in this part of the island.
