One of around 35 villages built for the resettlement of Dachen Islanders after the 1955 retreat to Taiwan. Initially home to 185 households and 872 residents, most of whom were engaged in fishing. The main center of faith for the community is Wufang Yangfu Temple (五房楊府廟). There is also a small park dedicated to Chiang Kai-shek (中正公園).
