活力海岸漁港小店

A small shop on the waterfront at Taixi Port (台西港), built in the early 2000s by converting a former fishery management station office. It was the flagship of the Vitality Coast (活力海岸) project, a government-backed effort to revitalize the fishing villages of Taixi through tourism, and once held a café, a restaurant, and a display on the local oyster industry alongside an upstairs viewing deck. Funding lapsed, water and electricity were cut, and the building has stood idle since the mid-2010s, attracting the attention of the urban exploration community in Taiwan.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
