Initially established just west of Houzishan (猴子山) in 1955, this Dachen Islands settlement was relocated to its current position in 1970 due to construction of the nearby airbase. Initially it was home to 107 households with 444 residents, the majority of whom were fishermen. It has also been known as Yushan New Village (漁山新村), for residents came from the Yushan Island (漁山島); Jigang New Village (集岡新村); and Jixing New Village (集興新村) at various points.
