Built in 1937 as the official residence of the Taitung Township Administrator (臺東街役長), this Japanese wooden building was seized by the KMT after the war and became the city mayor’s residence. After falling into disrepair it was restored in 2006, with the three children of the last Japanese township administrator attending the ceremony. It now operates as the Boting Art Center (寶町藝文中心).
