A three-storey hybrid Japanese-Western mansion built by Li Mingdao (李明道), heir to the Wandan-based Dingchang (鼎昌號) trading firm, so his daughter Li Chuxue (李初雪) could live within walking distance of Pingtung Girls’ High School. The lower two floors were completed between 1927 and 1932, with stone-washed walls and a classical Western portico. The third floor and rooftop terrace were added between 1945 and 1956. After standing closed for decades the house is being restored by Li’s sixth-generation descendants, who plan to reopen it in mid-2026 as a café and ceramics studio.
