An army dependents’ village of over 100 households established next to Keelung Senior High School (國立基隆高級中學) and Taiwan Miner’s General Hospital (台灣礦工醫院) in Nuannuan, Keelung. Residents gradually moved out over the decades and by the late 1990s only 37 households remained. In 1998 the Keelung city government and Ministry of National Defense coordinated the relocation of all remaining residents to the newly built Guanghua Public Housing (光華國宅) in Ren’ai District, and the original site was mostly demolished. Some abandoned structures in the vicinity may warrant further scrutiny.
