A museum of ocean science on the coast at Badouzi (八斗子) in Zhongzheng, Keelung. It originated in 1989 as one of two national marine museums planned under the Twelve Major Construction Projects (十二項建設). Its main exhibition hall reuses the shell of the North Thermal Power Plant, and the 48 hectare grounds opened in stages between 2012 and 2013, taking in a research center, an IMAX theater, and parks laid over a former landfill. An aquarium contracted to a private operator stalled when the operator defaulted in 2017, and finally opened as the Chaojing Smart Ocean Aquarium (潮境智能海洋館) in 2022.
