Site of a former Shinto shrine in Baxianshan, a famous logging area in the mountains of Taichung. It was established in November 1923. Part of the main hall’s base platform (本殿基壇) survived into the modern era but was destroyed by the 921 Earthquake in 1999. Today only the sockets where the torii once stood (鳥居孔) remain, and Xunyou Pavilion (尋幽亭) stands on the former shrine site, where informational plaques can be found. Likely known as Hassenzan-sha in the original Japanese, but the name is also sometimes given as Kabodai (佳保台), after the Japanese transliteration of a Tayal Indigenous place name.
