Hengchun Theater has been extensively renovated since it was last screening films, but this is indeed the original structure. Originally operated by Wu Fengyuan (吳豐源) as one of three theaters in town. Although a theater opened on this site in the 1930s is it not clear whether it was completely rebuilt at some point.
