Dongshi Fu’an Temple (東石富安宮) - Spectral Codex
Morikawa Seijiro (森川清治郎)

An unusual temple venerating Yi’aigong (義愛公), a deified Japanese police officer whose mortal name was Morikawa Seijiro (森川清治郎). Posted to this fishing district, he petitioned his superiors on behalf of villagers crushed by heavy levies and, rebuked for overstepping, took his own life; he was later deified after his spirit was credited with protecting the community through a 1923 epidemic, and is shown seated in police uniform. Several other temples revere this same figure, but this is the original and most senior.
