Yiwu Theater

Not much is known about this small town theater in Kouhu, Yunlin, but it presumably operated in the 1950s and 1960s. It was originally located near Yiwu Station (宜梧車站), a stop on the sugar railway network, but it was demolished long ago and turned into a parking lot. Some confusion exists about the name. In the Taiwan General Guide, published in 1963, it appears as if Lisheng Theater (麗聲戲院) was located in this same village. The characters might not be exactly right but there is a chance this was the official name of the theater more widely known by the general place name Yiwu.
