Zheng Fengxi Residence (口湖鄭豐喜故居) - Spectral Codex
口湖鄭豐喜故居

A simple Taiwanese courtyard house in Kouhu, Yunlin, dating back to 1950. It was the home of disabled author Zheng Fengxi (鄭豐喜), who wrote an autobiographical novel about the difficulties of rural life, A Boat in the Ocean (汪洋中的一條船). It was adapted into a film, He Never Gives Up (汪洋中的一條船), released in 1978. Zheng passed away in 1975 but much of his life remains preserved in the house. It was recognized for its heritage value in 2013.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
