A monument built in 1931 by the Dongshi Meat Improvement Association (東勢食肉改良會) for the former Dongshi Slaughterhouse (東勢屠宰場). The stele is carved from quartz sandstone sourced from the upper Dajia River and contains trace fossils from the Baileng Formation. Originally located behind Dongxin Elementary School, it was relocated after the 921 Earthquake and now stands at the entrance to a parking lot beside the Dongshi First Public Cemetery columbarium. Designated as a Taichung City general antiquity in 2021.
