Dashiji Theater

Former second-run theater established around 1980 on the third and fourth floors of Guohua Building (國花大廈) near National Taiwan University. The two screens were named Zhuangjing Hall (莊敬廳) on the third floor and Ziqiang Hall (自強廳) on the fourth; the ticket booth was located at a shoe repair shop (靴工館) in the ground floor shopping arcade. As business struggled into the 2000s the fourth floor screen was closed. The theater finally shut down in 2008; its name was still faintly visible on the building until around 2012. The space has since been converted to the offices of a language school. A sign bearing the original name of the theater might still be visible on the ground floor or in the basement.
