A former quasi-legal settlement on a hillside next to the riverside in Taipei that developed in the 1960s and 1970s. Rather than completely demolished it during the urban renewal wave of the mid-2000s it was decided to rehabilitate the site as Treasure Hill International Art Village (寶藏巖國際藝術村). Nowadays it is a popular tourist attraction with many boutique shops and galleries worth exploring.
