An ornate mansion completed in 1927 for Lin Maoyang (林懋陽), a member of the local gentry in Taichung. Immediately outside the main house is the Concubine’s Residence (細姨仔樓), a modest Western-style building. It was appropriated by the military in the post-war era and Yide New Village (一德新村) eventually formed around these historic buildings. In 2008 the military dependents’ village cleared out and it was soon recognized for its heritage value and restored. Nowadays it is a public attraction.
