An unusual earth god shrine tucked onto the seventh floor rooftop of the Taichung North District Office (台中北區公所), the only such shrine housed within any of the city’s district offices. It traces its origins to 1964, when staff at an earlier office site began venerating a paper talisman bearing the character fu (福) after a run of illnesses and misfortunes. The practice travelled with the office through two subsequent moves before settling into its present form at Yongxing Street (永興街) in 1997.
