A monument originally erected in 1932 at the former Taichung Slaughterhouse (台中屠宰場) in Minlong Village, West District. When the slaughterhouse was replaced by an electric facility in 1979, the stele was relocated to Taichung Meat Market (台中肉品市場). Due to ongoing redevelopment of the meat market site for social housing and the Zhushi Yuanman Park (豬事圓滿公園), the monument was relocated to an obscure part of the construction site, arousing concerns from preservationists as it has no heritage status as of 2025. The original inscription by Taichung Prefecture Governor Takeshita Toyoji (竹下豐次) was later erroneously credited to an ROC mayor. In some sources it is also known as Taichung Meat Market Animal Spirit Monument (台中市肉品市場獸魂碑).
