Originally built by the Dutch as Fort Zeelandia (熱蘭遮城) in 1624, this historic fortification served as the administrative center of the colony. The site preserves remnants of the original Dutch fortress walls and bastions, now complemented by museums displaying artifacts from Taiwan’s successive colonial periods. Registered as a national monument in 2023 under the name Remnants of Fort Zeelandia (熱蘭遮堡遺構).
