A historic Guanyin temple in Anping. According to legend a statue was originally brought over in 1590 and placed inside a thatched hut for worship in the pre-colonial era. Its recorded history formally begins in 1826 and the temple currently on site today is a reconstruction dating to 1992 following a road widening project.
