Established in May 1931 as a private shrine (構內社) for the Sankandian Sugar Factory (三崁店製糖場). After the war the original structures were demolished and a small post office was built on the stone platform. This building was cleared away in the mid-2000s, leaving the remains of the former shrine and wash basin (手水舍) in a small park. As of 2011 the site is also protected as a heritage property. Known as Sankanten-sha in the original Japanese.
