Bank of Taiwan Yilan Branch (臺銀宜蘭分行) - Spectral Codex
Taiwan Bank Yilan Branch (臺銀宜蘭分行)

Although a bank was established on this site in 1906 it was heavily damaged in World War 2 and demolished shortly thereafter. It was replaced by this three-storey modernist structure in 1949 and was in regular use until 2014, when it was decommissioned in favor of a newer office building nearby. Bank of Taiwan still owns the building but now rents it out to the city as the Yilan Museum of Art (宜蘭美術館).

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
