Built in 1929 and completed in 1932 as the administrative center for Wuri Village (烏日庄) under the Daitun District of what was then Taichung Prefecture. Originally a one-story brick building with a modernist stepped gable entrance, it was expanded to two stories in the post-war era while retaining the original entrance design. It served as Wuri Township Office until 1978 and is now used by the Taichung City Police Bureau Wuri Precinct Investigation Team. Immediately to the south is the former Wuri Police Station (烏日警察官吏派出所), also a designated historic building.
