A museum dedicated to the natural and cultural heritage of Yilan County. It is located next to the historic Wushi Harbor (烏石港), one of a small number of ports designated for trade with China in the Qing dynasty era, in Toucheng. The striking building, designed by Yao Jen-yi (姚仁喜) and opened in 2010, was inspired by the rock formations of the nearby coastline. The design has won numerous awards including the 2010 Taiwan Architecture Award and the 2012 International Architecture Award.
