A monument to Taiwanese activist Chiang Wei-shui (蔣渭水, 1890–1931) on the median platform at the southern portal of Hsuehshan Tunnel (雪山隧道) in Toucheng, Yilan. It was unveiled in 2006 when National Freeway 5 opened as Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway (蔣渭水高速公路), named for the Yilan-born physician who led the movement for Taiwanese self-determination under Japanese rule. The platform doubles as an emergency exit for the tunnel and the sole approach is on foot from the parking area at Hsuehshan Tunnel Museum (雪山隧道文物館).
