A monument to the workers who perished during the construction of the Taipei-Yilan Highway. There is also an ossuary on site housing the remains of the deceased. It was originally built in 1974, a few short years after the highway opened, and it became popular with gamblers during the lottery craze of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The site was completely rebuilt in 2007 to address concerns about building in the catchment area for a nearby reservoir. Naturally it has also appeared on lists of haunted places in Taiwan.
