An old military dependents’ village established in Taichung’s East District with funding from the Central District Credit Cooperative (中區合作社) around 1957. Originally a mix of single-storey houses and two-storey shophouses for civil servants and teachers, the village has been almost entirely redeveloped into five and six-storey apartment blocks. The roundabout at the intersection of Ziqiang Street and Lixing Road (合作圓環) is the last surviving feature, its clock tower (四面路鐘) a landmark of the vanished past.
