Yangmingshan and specifically Grass Mountain (草山) is home to a variety of communication facilities. This particular site was established in 1969 and is readily seen from nearby roads owing to the impressive sizes of the various satellite dishes in the enclosure. It is not ordinarily open to the public but on special occasions a tour might be possible. Nowadays it is managed by Chunghwa Telecom (中華電信).
