A natural history and science museum in North District, Taichung, the first science museum built under the Twelve Major Construction Projects (十二項建設). It opened in stages from 1986 to 1993 with a science center, a space theater, and halls of life science, human cultures, and the global environment. A botanical garden behind it was added on land handed over by the city in 1999, and the museum also runs the 921 Earthquake Museum and the Chelungpu Fault Preservation Park as satellite sites. With 2.85 million visitors in 2024, it is the most visited natural history museum in Taiwan.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
