This Japanese colonial era police garrison, also recorded as Shizitou Garrison (獅子頭駐在所), stood just outside Puli on the road to Wushe (霧社), a key post on the route into the Indigenous highlands of Ren’ai. Nothing of the building survives, though the owner of a neighbouring house has identified the plot as its former site. A survey benchmark (No. 10257) that once sat in the garrison’s forecourt, marked at 585.35 meters on colonial era maps, can still be found by lifting a heavy concrete cover beside the house.
