A Fujian-style courtyard house in Tieshan Village (鐵山里), Puli, Nantou. The original residence, sited by the Qing general Wu Guangliang (吳光亮), collapsed in the 1917 Puli earthquake; the present compound was rebuilt the following year by Huang Dunren (黃敦仁), the family’s adopted son-in-law, with a seven-bay main hall and decorative work blending Fujianese, Japanese, and Indigenous motifs. Damaged again in the 921 Earthquake of 1999, it was repaired along traditional lines. Although recognized for its heritage value the site remains a private residence of the Huang family and is presumably not open to the public, with only the gatehouse visible from the street.
