A former military base on the outskirts of Miaoli City. It was previously the site of Byoritsu Airfield (苗栗飛行場), with “Byoritsu” being Japanese for Miaoli. The base was decommissioned in the early 2000s and has been abandoned ever since, awaiting some plan from the county government. While all facilities have been razed, an auditorium with the name Wenkang Center (文康中心) can still be seen from the highway on Google Street View in history mode near the southern end of the base.
