Wannian Hengqu Inscription (萬年亨衢碣) - Spectral Codex

One of several Qing dynasty era stone inscriptions along the Batongguan Old Trail (八通關古道) in Lugu, Nantou. The four characters, expressing the wish that the new road might carry trade and travel for ten thousand years, were inscribed by General Wu Guangliang (吳光亮) himself after his promotion for completing the trail’s central section in 1875. Carved into a boulder at the foot of Fenghuangshan (鳳凰山), the inscription is more than a meter wide, but has stood in precarious condition since debris flows triggered by Typhoon Toraji (颱風桃芝) devastated the surrounding hills in 2001.
