Established as a third-class post office in Ligang in 1938. There is a reinforced concrete office on the main road with a wooden dormitory in the back, presumably for the postmaster. It continued to serve as a post office in the post-war era but operations moved to newer facilities in 1979, leaving the building derelict. Listed as a heritage property in 2015. Restoration work began at the end of 2024 and the office reopened to the public in spring 2026.
