Built in the 1920s on the ashes of Guanxi Taihe Temple (關西太和宮), this single-storey reinforced-concrete station served first as an office of the hokō system of community policing, then as a local police substation. Hsinchu County Police vacated the building in March 2017 after relocating to a new three-storey complex and the original is undergoing restoration as of 2025, part of a planned heritage art park.
